The Story of Sint-Maarten 

On the 11th of November it's Sint-Maarten. On this holiday, in the evening, children wil go door to door with homemade lanterns. They'll sing a typical Sint-Maarten song and get some sweets in return. How did this holiday come to be?

On Saturday at 12:00 noon, Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas in Dutch) will set foot at the Beestenmarkt! After sailing all the way from Spain, he and his helpers will give sweets to all the children in a grand parade.
