Services for Employers

We are dedicated to supporting employers of internationals. We do this to help organisations in the region attract and retain much-needed international talent. One such example is Channel Engine, a rapidly growing company that has benefitted from our services in welcoming their employees. Largest Meet&Mingle to Date

In September, we hosted a unique Meet&Mingle in collaboration with the municipality of Leiden. What set this edition apart was its inclusivity, welcoming both international and local residents from the region. Over a hundred attendees expanded their social circles and were warmly welcomed by Alderman Fleur Spijker. Stay tuned for upcoming Meet&Mingles on our events page.

Promoting Dutch Conversation With Pins

Together with the municipality of Leiden, we created 'Praat Nederlands met me' (Talk Dutch with me) pins! Dutch learners often face challenges practicing in daily life, as conversations tend to shift to English. Speaking Dutch fosters a stronger connection with their surroundings, making internationals more likely to stay. Pick up a pin at our monthly Meet&Mingle events and the Tourist Information Leiden.

Meet Our New Team

Our team has changed significantly, marked by Corine's transition to a new role within Leiden&Partners and Jenny's appointment as manager. Kathelijn joined to oversee our online communication and events, and Ruth to welcome internationals at our helpdesk. In November, we welcomed interns Rangelle and Sibilla to further strengthen our team. Each of us has an international background. Get to know us!

This month Paulina and Yoana completed their internships with us. After 6 months of working on online communication, event planning, and helpdesk assistance, they have each learned a lot and became valuable members of our team. Read how Paulina reflects back on her time with us.

LBSP External Experts

Corine, member of LBSP's Human Capital Steering Committee, helped form the External Experts group. This initiative connects employers with Leiden International Centre's 46 service partners, offering support in immigration, taxes, housing, and more. The first External Experts Lunch in November showcased our free services for HR. For future meetings, check our Corporate Events page.

Internationalisation in Leiden

Leiden's international population has grown to 13.1%, with 1 in 8 residents having a foreign passport. The City and Neighbourhood Survey indicates 1 in 5 residents speaks a language other than Dutch at home. The survey also highlights internationals' eagerness to contribute to the city, with 33% expressing interest in organising neighbourhood activities.
