In April we celebrated our first, successful Expat Welcome Event. Mayor Lenferink welcomed dozens of new international inhabitants of the Leiden region. This month, it is time to show your strength and persistence. On 27 May 27th the Leiden Marathon Leiden will takes place. Sign up with your family or neighbours, or take up the challenge by yourself. You can expect many other outdoor activities as well. Do you have questions for the Expat Centre Leiden? Feel free to visit us on Mondays or Wednesdays at a time that suits you.

Warm welcome for internationals
Expat Centre Leiden organised its first ‘Welcome Event’ for ‘internationals'. During this evening mayor Lenferink welcomed dozens of new international inhabitants of the Leiden region.
30%-ruling reduced to 5 years
The Dutch State Secretary of Finance proposed to reduce the maximum term of the 30%-ruling from 8 years to 5 years.
Introduction new BMW i3 and i3S
BMW/MINI dealership Van Poelgeest introduced the new BMW i3 and i3s in their showroom in Noordwijk. In addition, a sporty model is now available: the BMW i3s.

National Windmill Day
May 12th
'Windmill Day' is the annual windmill event, with many activities such as baking pancakes, markets, storytelling and music events. More than 700 windmills take part! Take a look at the activities in the area.

World Fair

Leiden - Museum Volkenkunde is organizing the World Fair in collaboration with Wereldse Markten. Browse around the market, discover flavors and the finest handmade and fair trade products from all around the world.
Leiden Marathon
May 27th
Leiden - The 28th edition of the Leiden Holland Marathon will take place on Sunday 27 May. Besides the 42 km race, the event will also feature several shorter distance races.

Kid's workshop programming a robot
May 27th
Leiden - Do your kids love building things with Lego and technology? During this workshop they will create a fantastic robot from Lego bricks. But they will also have to make it move!
Ethnic jewellery from Asia and Africa

Leiderdorp - The Leiderdorps Museum hosts an exhibition of a private collection of ethnic jewellery from Asia and Africa from 14 January to 1 June 2018.
