Dear readers,

The Expat Centre Leiden (ECL) team wishes you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2018!

This year, the ECL will provide you with lots of services: registration and BSN, events organised by us and by others, newsletters, information for new and not so new internationals (helpdesk, phone, email), a very useful website with information and guidelines, and much, much more. Please be in touch if you think we can be of assistance, or just walk in during our opening hours.

As a New Year's resolution, this year we would like to post more interviews with internationals and publish them on the website and in this newsletter. Their experiences will help other internationals in the Leiden region. And, let's face it: it's nice to read about how the other internationals live their lives and to hear their suggestions. If you would like to be in the spotlight this year, please fill out the interview questions form and upload your picture. Our readers and I will greatly appreciate it.

Leiden Restaurant Week

January 22nd until 28th

Leiden - Culinary platform LeidsLekkers organises the 9th edition of Leiden's Restaurant Week. More than 35 restaurants in the Leiden region open their doors for an exceptional food fiesta. This year's theme is 'aperitif'.

Organ concert ‘by candlelight’

January 26th

Zoeterwoude - This concert will be performed on the historic Van Damorgel at the Dorpskerk in Zoeterwoude-Dorp. The organ can be viewed up close after the concert.

Astronomy on tap

January 29th

Leiden - Astronomy on Tap features scientists and educators who speak of their passion for astronomy and research. Professional astronomers from the Leiden area hold informal presentations on a wide range of astronomical topics.

Exhibition Katwijks Museum: Real Landscapes

Katwijk - the museum is displaying the most recent work of two present day artists in the exhibition ‘Real Landscapes’. Both artists are stimulated by nature and want to get as close to it as possible.
